Advocacy
Students have a knowledge of injustice in the world, have informed opinions of it, and know that their voice and actions have value. They can advocate for themselves and others.
Introduction
To develop student voice, educators must first expose their students to injustice in the world. After educating on varying issues of unfair treatment, it is imperative to harness that education into a well-informed opinion which ultimately results in action. Culturally responsive educators provide students the opportunity to investigate differing issues of injustice and allow students to explore and determine issues of meaning in their specific lives and identity groups. The purpose of this is to show students their voice is valuable and can create change for themselves and others. It is my intention that I impart to my students the awareness that they can utilize their voice and behaviors for the betterment of themselves and others, thus making the world a more exceptional place.

Conclusion
To effectively educate, one must teach students beyond academic standards. By exposing students to injustices, teachers can help guide their journey of learning to speak out against the wrongs of society and take effective action. Education is the first step to creating a better world. Students cannot be expected to know and produce things they have not been exposed to. Through education on society, students can in turn refine their opinions based on research and facts. After developing well studied opinions, responsible action follows naturally in line. Daily I want my students to have exposure and practice advocating for themselves and others.
